Gold Swings Before FOMC Minutes Amid Signs of Increased Demand

Spot gold gained and fell at least 0.3 percent, and was up 45 cents at $1,371.62 an ounce at 11:30 a.m. in Singapore. Prices rose to a two-month high of $1,384.55 on Aug. 19. Assets in the biggest exchange-traded product expanded for the fourth time this month, while the volume for Shanghai’s benchmark spot contract climbed to the highest in more than two weeks.
